The Grassroots Arts Program is unique in that it empowers local arts councils and arts organizations to plan programs and projects for their citizens that reflect the arts and cultural traditions and resources specific to their area.  By providing funding for localized efforts, the North Carolina Arts Council helps foster a sense of pride in local communities and increases citizen participation in and ownership of local programs.

The North Carolina Arts Council is funded by the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources with the Arts Council of Lincoln County as the local County Partner administrator of the Grassroots Grant program.  Grants are given yearly for art program projects, cultural art events and services.  Funds are available to nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations, whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Lincoln County.  For more information, please email or call the Arts Council office.
The Arts Council of Lincoln County invites interested non-profit organizations to submit applications for the 2009-2010 program.  Please read the Press Release for more information and then download the Application here.  All applications must be received by the Arts Council of Lincoln County by September 30, 2009.  If there are any questions about the eligibility of a particular art program for your group, please email or call the Arts Council office.
